2023 Exhibition
Africa International House USA, Inc (AIH) celebrates Black History Month with an exclusive exhibition featuring traditional African arts from the private collections of three AIH-affiliated collectors. This unique exhibit exemplifies the merit of AIH being named one of Chicago’s cultural treasures for educating all people about the great confabulations of African cultures. The exhibition includes rare and ancient masks, sculptures, furniture, vessels, textiles, and objects from various cultures in traditional Africa representing the peoples from Kpelle, Ashanti, Senufo, Dogon, Bambara, Bamum, Bamileke, Igbo, Mende, Baule, Pende, Yoruba and more.
The exhibit is presented at the AIH Center for Contemporary African Art & Culture located atHarris Park 6200 South Drexel Avenue, in Chicago. The free exhibition remains on display. Exhibition hours are Weekdays: 12:00 pm - 6:30 pm and Saturdays from 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm.

Contemporary Art of Nigeria Exhibition
July 15th through September 6th
Co-curated by artists Tunde Famous Afolayan and Mukaila Ayoade, the exhibition advances awareness of contemporary Nigerian art and culture here in the U.S. The 42 works on display are by both classically trained and self-taught artists, and are rendered in mediums including acrylic, collages, pastels and water colors. The inaugural exhibition of the Contemporary Art of Nigeria was held in 2014 at the Chicago Cultural Center,” said well-known Chicago-based, Nigerian artist Adedayo Laoye, who is working with the curators on the exhibit. “It is an unprecedented opportunity to add works by these internationally renowned artists to your collection.”
