During the course of any given year, AIH presents culturally diverse, educational and entertaining programming suitable for the entire family. It’s flagship program, the African Festival of the Arts, (AFA) is always presented during the traditional Labor Day Weekend (Friday to Monday) on the South side of Chicago in Washington Park. The African Festival of the Arts has proven to be a great success within the arts and cultural community: the AFA 2009 is expected to attract an audience of over 250,000 people. The festival’s audience is cosmopolitan, educated and loyal to the companies and businesses that support this important community festival.
