Songs in the Language of Kemet

The language of the Pharoahs of Ancient Kemet is said to be lost.  This historical track listing, pulled directly from the project CD**, has revived this beautiful and powerful language in song, stories and poetry. Each composition contains Medu (the Ancient Hieroglyphic word for “language”) in some form as taught at the Earth Center Chicago.

**In 1996 Africa International House commissioned former Miles Davis musical director/producer, Robert Lee Irving III, to compose and perform a Pan African/Jazz Suite entitled “Soul Remembering”.  That memorable performance featured saxophonist David Murray, violinist Regina Carter and poet/percussionist, Kahil El Zabar.
